Loren Dann

This painting is intended as a physical manifestation of the voice I hope to give my daughters to scream and say what they feel. My intent is to express that women should take up space and be loud. The two young girls are encouraged by the text that surrounds them. Around the images are many hand-written quotes of inspiration from Simone De Beauvoir and Rudyard Kipling to Bernie Sanders and Lucy Lippard. The quotes are focused on equality and the value of women’s voices.
